We are trying to start a small Cornhole league at the Brooklyn cafe this summer. Whats cornhole you ask? It's like horseshoes and bean bag tic tac toe hooked up and had a baby. It's a blast... It's a way of life...

We need people, so come friday night around 8, we'll be on the back patio throwin' bags. It's a blast. There are leagues all over the bars"back east", and we want to bring the fun to Arizona!!!!

Good people and good times so come and give it a try.

The V.O.C. Tickler Tournament

It was a gorgeous day for a little cornhole. 75 degrees, little or no breeze, a cooler of beer and rum and nothing to do except toss bags. The tourney was intended to spread the word about the upcoming 1st season in the VOC, in order to get more teams. A lot of people said they were going to come and try it out, but only 7 showed... so the tourney went from doubles to singles. A double elimination tournament/ small round robin, mostly for shits and giggles.

But the 7 who did show had a blast. Here is Catherine of the corn and Sandy V in "scorekeepers alley" enjoying the shade and a laugh.

Steve was there (far left) representing the United Kingdom and the majority of Europe. And Twirla Moots (green shirt) used all the body english she could for her 19 cornholes. Pauly (hawiian shirt) played his first couple of cornhole games ever and did awesome, especially against Burpy Bob (far right), who had previous experience but still lost this match to Pauly.
Cornwall Jackson defeated Cornhole Catherine in the Championship match, avenging his early loss to her. Here is a picture of the finalists with one of the "grateful cubbies" boxes

Why: Gain some intrest in order to start new league at the Brooklyn Cafe this summer.

VOC Mini Invitational
Saturday night NACHO held its first mini tourney. It was basically practice for the players as well as the organizors, a kind of trail run, mostly consisting of family. It was a round robin style tournament with 3 teams.
The Baggettes consisted of Catherine the Corn and Sandy V, who most likely will be a "real team" in future tournaments. The Blondes were Bessica Chowers and The Wee. And the NACHOS (spunsered by Yo MTV Raps) were Bobby Baby and Cornwall Jackson...

and the crowd went... well there wasn't much of a crowd as the tourney was held in Sandy V's backyard. But Cornwall Jackson had this to say about his teams victory "Bobby Baby had some big throws for us when we really needed them. And in the championship neither team could get hot, so it wasn't pretty, not many cornholes, but we'll take it."

Cornwall and Bobby will most likely not be partners in the future... it is rumored that Cornwall and his fiance The Wee will team up for the big tournaments. Bobby might actually pair with his daughter Bessica, but there is also a rumor of him being paired with longtime freind Cornhole Paul when he returns from San Fransisco.

The Wee wasn't on her usual game, throwing only 6 cornholes in the two games combined. We asked Wee for her comments on playing her partner and the tournament in general. "It was a good ol fashioned family rivalry ass kicken… Unfortunately, I was the one that got my ass kicked…" well her and her partner Bessica Chowers.

Keep checking back for updates and tournament dates... One is tenatively set for Feb. 4th in the VOC... hopefully it will be a big one, so please submit team names, names, and phone numbers ASAP.

northern arizona corn hole orinization

Hello and welcome... this will be our "homesite" for what I hope one day will be a thriving cornhole club. We are currently planning a small introductory tournament in febuary. If you could comment (anomalously if your not a blooger) and give us your info, we can get back to you.

name, phone number and email, team name ( if you have one already) and hometown would suffice for now.

the tourney, which is still unnamed, will most likely be planned around a weekend when ol' Pauly V is in town, but we also want to start a league... maybe at a bar, maybe at NACHO members homes on rotating basis...
